Promiscuous females have ‘better babies’
PROMISCUOUS women have a higher chance of giving birth to healthier offspring, research has shown. Competition between sperm from different men increases the chance of a baby being born with better genes. The discovery was made studying a mouse-like marsupial from Australia. But the same evolutionary principle may also apply to other mammals.
Scientists will now study whether the findings can be applied to human sexual behaviour.
