I often take lovers with my husbands approval. He’s not a fan of intercourse so I have to get my sexual satisfaction elsewhere. I don’t consider myself part of a group or lifestyle it’s just circumstances that have brought me to my current situation. I don’t really use the Internet to find partners. I live in a big city and it’s very easy to remain anonymous. You could see someone out one day and not see them for another few years so I like the fact that I can go to a nightspot and behave how I want because I know it’s very unlikely I’ll be seeing the people around me any time soon. It also makes a good grounding for casual encounters.

I pick up men when I’m out and usually have sex in a hotel. My husband or my best friend always know where I am and where I’m staying. Then in the morning (or the same night) I go home. My husband asks me about my encounters but not in a sexual way, more in a polite way, like asking me what I bought when I was shopping. I love my husband very much and also love the freedom he gives me to fulfil my needs.

I know many friends who’s sex life has gone stale as the relationship has progressed. They are living an existence of denial and unfulfilment and it just doesn’t seem right. Life will pass them by and they wake up one day thinking what could have been.
